Integrated Geospatial and Information Systems

This research group aims to integrate broad spectrum of multi-disciplinary data of different research groups of the institute through integrated geoscience applications and techniques. Integrated Geospatial Technologies uses a unique, integrative framework to present a balanced approach to such geotechnologies as GIS, GPS, digital photogrammetry, and visualization.

The main focus of the group

  • Cartography, Mapping, and Map Serving
  • Geographic Information Systems
  • Digital Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing.
  • Databases
  • Geotechnology Integration
  • Web map visualization
  • Global Positioning Systems
  • Geodetics

Research within this group focuses on various aspects of temporal and spatial data analysis, data management and advanced visualization. Our goals include research into new and cutting edge geo-information science (Themactic & Topographical mapping, Geodetics, Geo-processing, Webtools, WebGIS and Geodata models), tools and techniques for data management, archival and analysis. In addition to these interests, our group provides technical services and support on GIS, GPS, Photogrammetric and remote sensing applications for various research projects funded by Singapore, regional and international bodies. The group also provides support which includes training in Geoinformation sciences and technical support for project partners.
